Ed Kashi is a photojounalist and filmaker whose work I have been following since I was in graduate school. His images and story telling abilities are very powerful and emotional. There is really too much for me to say about him here, so visit his website, he has a number of photo essays and other projects, all of which are worth looking at.
In 2005, he spent seven weeks in the northern region of Iraqi Kurdistan on assignment for National Geographic taking photographs of daily life. He then edited those images together and created what I have included above, please watch.
